How much will it cost?

I am almost always able to work to a fixed fee. This means you will know before you decide to instruct me how much the work will cost.
When you first make an enquiry my clerks will be able to provide you an indication of the range of fees. When I have spoken with you and seen the paperwork associated with your case you will be provided with a definitive quote. All quoted fees are subject to VAT at the prevailing rate.

Documents and Advice

When you instruct me to prepare documents for you, carry out legal research, or provide advice in writing or at a meeting, my fees are based on the number of hours I estimate the work will take.

My hourly rate is £300 + VAT.

Once I have spoken with you and seen your case papers I will set out in writing my proposed fee. If you decide to instruct me the fee is payable before I begin work.

Court Hearings

My fee for attending Court is based on the time estimate of the hearing, the type of hearing, and the complexity of the case.

Once I have an understanding of your case I will quote a fixed fee. If you decide to instruct me the fee is payable in advance.

I will normally require a meeting with you before the hearing in order to prepare. For some shorter hearings it may be appropriate simply to meet one another at court early.

Fees Guide

Harcourt Chambers, where I base my practice, has prepared a guide showing example fees for a financial case with joint assets under £300,000.  You can view the guide HERE.

If a case is more complex the fees are likely to be higher.
